This illustration was created for the New York Times article, “How Does a Writer Put a Drug Trip into Words?” written by Michael Pollan. This article discusses the things Michael Pollan experienced while on drugs. To approach this illustration, I stayed away from the usual style in which trips are typically depicted. I solved this problem by imagining what the writer's office may look like while on drugs. Instead of bright colors, I wanted to keep the colors more muted and realistic. The elements within this are illustration and animation.
